Frequently Asked Questions
These are the most frequently asked questios. If you have any other question, please contact me.
What do I get for my money?
You gain direct video access to your professor just as if you were on campus, scheduled a meeting with me, and physically knocked on my door at the appointed time. The difference is that you can do it from your home or wherever you are without wasting time or money on transportation.
Do I need to have Zoom?
No, you get a link and you can join me in my virtual office directly from your browser. It’s as simple as that. Just be on time!
Can I record our meeting?
Yes, you can. Our meetings happen via Zoom, which allows us to record them. The recording is for your own use, but if we agree, you can share a small piece of it on your website or social media.
Can I ask any question I like?
Yes, you can but I can’t guarantee I can answer all your questions. I’m only an evolutionary biologist, ethologist, and philosopher. Within those fields, I’ll answer your questions to the best of my knowledge. Outside of those fields, I can only give you my opinion.
Can I ask about behavioral problems?
Yes, you can, but I can only provide you with broad answers. I can’t answer questions about specific behavior problems because that requires I interact with the animal, which I cannot do from my virtual office on Zoom.
Do I need to speak English?
No, not at all. We can converse in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Danish, and Swedish. My Italian and German are too rusty for me to communicate adequately, though I’ll understand you. I might also understand your Norwegian if it is not a too radical dialect.
